In April 2008, Lt. Quarles Harris Jr., 24, a key witness who had been cooperating with federal investigators in a probe into Barack Obama’s passport information stolen and altered from the State Department was found late at night slumped over inside a car. Our society should’ve collapsed by now. You know that, right?
No society should function with this level of inequality (with the possible exception of one of those prison planets in a “Star Wars” movie). Sixty-three percent of Americans can’t afford a $500 emergency. Yet Amazon head, Jeff Bezos, is now worth a record $141 billion. He could literally end world hunger for multiple years and still have more money left over than he could ever spend on himself.
The House Appropriations Committee voted on Wednesday to allow victims of gang violence and domestic abuse to enter the US under new asylum rules.
In June, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a decision to stop granting asylum for such claimants. On Wednesday House Republicans overturned this.
The amendment passed on a voice vote.
House Freedom Caucus co-founder Jim Jordan formally announced his campaign for speaker of the House Thursday. Jordan has received an onslaught of support from conservative groups and his colleagues in the House Freedom Caucus to run for speaker.
“Should the American people entrust us with the majority again in the 116th Congress, I plan to run for Speaker of the House to bring real change to the House of Representatives,” Jordan said in a statement Thursday. “President Trump has taken bold action on behalf of the American people. Congress has not held up its end of the deal, but we can change that. It’s time to do what we said.”
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes wants to ban electronic voting systems, calling them “really dangerous.” “The one thing we’ve been warning about for many, many years on the intelligence committee is about the electronic voting systems,” Nunes, R-Calif., told Hill.TV’s Buck Sexton.
Mark Zuckerberg is counting the cost of user disenchantment with Facebook Inc. His fortune tumbled by $16.8 billion in late trading Wednesday, as shares of the social media giant slid 20 percent at 5:37 p.m. in New York on disappointing results. If that holds through Thursday’s close, he will slide to sixth place from third on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. It would also wipe his $13.7 billion of gains for the year, leaving him with just less than $70 billion.
The beast system knows the people are on to its election rigging machines. It has responded by putting forward a phony elections bill in Congress. These are the corrupt, anti-Americans offering that trash. Senators – Patty Murray, Ron Wyden, Kirsten Gillibrand, Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren.
